caro sindaco, forse lei non sa che ogni giorno nella citta' di new york cani e gatti vengono brutalmente uccisi nel rifugio nycacc. centinaia ogni anno.
per favore fermi questo massacro e trasformi new york in una citta' "senza morte" come simbolo mondiale.

Hundreds of Italians donors daily offer money to help no-kill NYC shelters to get the animal out of ACC. Now, we are connected with American no-kill groups, to ask you to stop killing animals in NYC.

For a very long time, the NYC Animal Care & Control (AC&C) has been operating with total impunity.

1. According to the ACC Placement Decision, ACC can kill with an injection all animals not adopted wit
hin the 72hours from their capture, including puppies under the 4 weeks. They kill about 8,000 dogs and cats per year.
2. Many Italians and people from around the world donate thousand of dollars to some no-kill shelters in NYC to intercede locally with ACC and trying to get cats out of the ACC death row.
3. A small part of animals can be saved by this proceeding. Most are killed.
4. Every nite, ACC releases the risk list. As a Russian roulette, web people pledge money to save some of the cats. Once the No-kill shelter decides to save that cat, people should honor the pledges. Officially, ACC do not ask pledge to be honored. We do know if there is any agreement between the ACC and other shelters in NYC. For sure, we don’t know that ACC is a Kill shelter and other no-kill shelters receive money from Internet donors to give a chance of life to animals in the ACC death row.
5. The money flow, via Internet, is huge.
6. Suspected cases: many of the cats appear in perfect condition. Everyone knows that stray cats are in severe and poor condition. We wonder where those cats are taken. Many of them arrive already microchipped at ACC.
7. Paradoxical cases: cats “returned” at the “Urgent page list” ACC with different ID, names and age, after pledges were honored by private web donors.
8. Too many healthy, young, adoptable animals are being murdered for time and space.

We have collected documentation in more than one year of monitoring of ACC activity and collected evidences on their managing public and private money for killing pets, even during adoption request and proceedings.

MINDLESS CRUELTY at ACC:

As you might easily understand, the stray problem cannot be solved by brutally killing animals, but through the so-called “TNR” policy, that was theorized in Usa, as “a humane and more effective alternative to euthanasia for managing and reducing feral cat populations” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trap-neuter-return ) .
